Often, you hear about this training – BLS and First Aid. And when you hear about this, it’s more likely that you also hear about Red Cross. Why? Because Red Cross is known in the country to offer this course.
Truth is, Red Cross isn’t the only organization providing this type of training. Other training centers in the Philippines offer CPR AED and First Aid, a course developed by either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), designed for non-healthcare professionals.
BLS is a course designed for healthcare professionals or providers while CPR AED is designed for lay persons. Both courses teach about CPR, but in different scenarios, focus and approach.
GTO’s BLS and First Aid course is essentially CPR AED and First Aid course for lay persons.
